My 2nd Semi-Political Post...

So does anyone care about what I had to do this morning? Anyone? At all? No, of course not, but I'm going to tell you anyway. I'm going to tell you because this is my blog and I can cry if I want to. This morning (way too early, mind you), I drove 30 minutes to an Advance Voting location. I got in line 30 minutes before the location even opened its doors to voters. I stood in -20 degree weather (yes, I'm being overly dramatic here. It wasn't really that cold, but it was cold enough that my fingers wouldn't even type on my poor BlackBerry cause they were too frakin' frozen) for 3 1/2 hours. It was like torture. Cold, painful, boring torture. In the few elections I have voted in, I have not once had to stand in a line for longer than 20-30 minutes. This fact, in and of itself, can stand as evidence to how our world has changed and is even now changing. People care. They care enough to freeze for 3 hours out in the cold so that they can join their voice to the river of voices that flow throughout our country, throughout our world. It's a great thing, even if it does cause my toes and fingers to get frostbite. Here is another fun pro-voting video for you VotD. Pass it on.

My favorite lines:

"I can do anything. I was in a boy band, ok?" - Justin Timberlake

"Tommy Cruise say Dont Vote?" - Zach Braff

537 people decided the 2000 election..."537? There's more Baldwin brothers than that." - Ryan Reynolds

Video of the Day

Thanks to HisGoldenEyes for your VotD! It's super awesome! Well, it is if you are a Twilighter. Or even if you happen to have a girly-girl crush on Robert Pattinson. Or if you don't have a girly-girl crush on Rob, but you WANT to have a crush on him, this is the place. Enjoy!

Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince

New trailer! Did I mention, new BAD ASS trailer? Yeah, don't forget that...BAD ASS! Watch it once, watch it a million times. And pout...cause we must wait until NEXT FREAKING YEAR before we can actually see the film. Yeesh. So sad.

See it here.

A Supernatural Story

I have been...procrastinating on doing a post about this show. This is my Supernatural story...

Let's go back to the year 2005. One night in September I actually have something to do besides college homework or just being lazy and loser-ish on my couch with my then roommate. I have a new job, a new potential boyfriend (that's the biggie, people) and a new social circle that consists of more times than not drunken college students and servers. So, getting to the point, I had better things to do than sit at home and check out the new WB series, Supernatural, no matter how smokin' hot the lead actors were. So, I set a blank video cassette (ah, the good old days...) to record the show and politely told my roommate that I would politely break her pretty little legs if she ruined my recording. I excitedly left to go see my potential new boyfriend (a lovely relationship that ended up lasting more than two years) as my roommate smirked behind my back at my failed attempt at polite threatening. The next day I asked her what she thought about the show. Big mistake, people. She gave me a pretty little anguished pout, as if I had made her watch an obnoxiously long infomercial selling really ugly shoes. She then started to whine about how stupid and ridiculously predictable the show had been. She had NOT been impressed. Now, there are very few people whose options I trust when it comes to TV and film. She was not one of them, to say the least. Still, when a show comes with that kind of introduction, it's hard to knock those kind of thoughts of out your head. It's a first impression kind of thing. So, when I finally sat down to watch the first episode, I too was unimpressed. After that debacle, Supernatural and I had a falling out and I never again spent the effort to try watching it again. Until now...

Tina and Katie finally convinced me to borrow their first season Supernatural. We spend a lot our time together talking about our favorite books, TV and films. We share our own favorites and it's very unusual for us to NOT fall in love with each other's favorites. They were adamant about the fact that I would LOVE this show. Out of respect for their opinion, I promised to try out the first season again. It sat on my coffee table for a couple weeks before I sighed in resignation and popped the first disc in. I slowly made it through the first disc, but the slow part didn't last long. By about a quarter of the way through the season, I was hooked. I'm not sure if I should love or hate my friends for finally forcing me to watch Supernatural. Love, because it's a really fun and entertaining show, full of Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki hotness. Hate, because loving this show and these actors is making me feel like a drooling, twittering, obnoxiously obsessed teenager. Again. I mean, I went through this with Buffy...must I go through this again?! And now, when I am almost 26 years old? Seriously? *Sigh*. Yup, there's just no stopping it. No hiding it...

Hi, my name is Lauren...and I'm in love with Supernatural.

*Hi, Lauren* -- All voices from In Love With Teenage Heartthrobs Anonymous

So, I bet you can guess where your QotD is coming from, huh? Yeah, good guess. Enjoy and try to keep your judgement to yourself. I'm a fragile little drooling teenager.

Molly: Oh, thank God!
Dean: Call me Dean.

Dean: One of us should probably stay here with you just in case he stops by.
(Madison leaves the room)
Sam: All right, you go, I'll stay.
Dean: Forget that. You go after the creepy ex, I'm gonna hang here with the hot chick.
Sam: Dude. Why do you always get to hang out with the girls?
Dean: Because I'm older.

Sam: Dude... were you on my computer?
Dean: Uh...no...
Sam: Oh really? Cuz it's frozen now, on bustyasianbeauties.com?

Sam: So?
Dean: The secretary's name is Carly. She's 23, she kayaks, and they're real.
Sam: You didn't happen to ask her if she's seen any black dogs lately, did you?
Dean: Every complaint called in this week about everything big, black or dog-like. There's 19 calls in all. And I don't know what this thing is.
Sam: You mean Carly's MySpace address?
Dean: Yeah, MySpace. What the hell is that? [Sam laughs] Seriously, is that, like, some sort of porn site?

Eli Stone

All right. So. Eli Stone has premiered already this season, so I'm a little late in dedicating a post to the fun-lovin-and-dancing extravaganza that is this show. And as you know, all fun-lovin-and-dancing extravaganza shows should be recognized and honored. So. Below are your VotDs. The first video is from the first season, when Eli was just recognizing his gift and obviously hasn't learned how to deal with it yet. I mean seriously, you have to be a completely humorless person to not laugh at this scene. Johnny Lee is hilarious. It's one of my favorites.

This second video is from second season (going on now), when we are first introduced to Katie Holmes character. Now, as my friend Brett will tell you since I ranted non-stop about it while we were watching the show, I really did NOT want to like Katie Holmes' character, since I am not a very big fan of Katie. I certainly can say that I do NOT like her voice very much, but her character ended up being kinda sweet, so I warmed to her a little as the episode progressed. I still don't like her singing though and I'm sticking to my guns about that one! See for yourself.

Fall For You

Since my friend Elliott knows how much I like, as he calls them, "slit-my-wrist" songs (nice, huh?), he tacked on a few good ones on my new CD and I really, really liked this one. The song reminds me of something I once wanted...but things always change and now, even though I still sometimes feel the desire for it when I am at my weakest, it's not something I can have or even want anymore. So...this song has just the perfect amount of self-pity, depression and resignation to express those lovely thoughts. But of course, any song can mean a thousand different things to any one person who listens to it. It could mean happy thoughts for you, reader, for all I know. Not everyone is a "realist" like me. Enjoy.

Fall For You
By: Secondhand Serenade

The best thing about tonight's that we're not fighting
Could it be that we have been this way before
I know you don't think that I am trying
I know you're wearing thin down to the core

But hold your breathe
Because tonight will be the night
That I will fall for you
Over again
Don't make me change my mind
Or I won't live to see another day
I swear it's true
Because a girl like you is impossible to find
You're impossible to find

This is not what I intended
I always swore to you I'd never fall apart
You always thought that I was stronger
I may have failed but I have loved you from the start

Oh, But hold your breathe
Because tonight will be the night
That I will fall for you
Over again
Don't make me change my mind
Or I won't live to see another day
I swear it's true
Because a girl like you is impossible to find
It's impossible
So breathe in so deep
Breathe me in
I'm yours to keep
And hold on to your words
Cause talk is cheap
And remember me tonight
When you're asleep

Because tonight will be the night
That I will fall for you
Over again
Don't make me change my mind
Or I won't live to see another day
I swear it's true
Because a girl like you is impossible to find

On Being a Thane...

"What, then, is a Thane? Some will tell you that a Thane is a proud or greedy man who makes himself a lord over others the better to satisfy his basest hungers. I tell you, my beloved son, that this is not so. Rather; a Thane is a servant. He serves his people, and all people, by standing between them and the darkness.

There is an impulse in this world, and in we its peoples, towards destruction and decay. Ungoverned, we will always, sooner or later, tear down whatever we have built, unlearn whatever we have learned. If there are to be no Gods to give us order, we must impose order upon ourselves lest we sink for ever into a chaos of cruelty and suffering. Such was the darkness we fell into at the departure of the Gods."

Dancing Through Life

Your SotD is another from the musical Wicked. At first I wasn't sure how I felt about this song, but it really grew on me and it's now one of my favorites. I love how all the shallow characters in this musical eventually became deeper, more complex characters as the story came to its end. Fiyero particularly is one of my favorite characters. He is one of the only people in the whole play who could see beyond Elphaba's (the wicked witch) green skin and see the person beneath. This is the song that introduces us to his character and as you can tell by the song, he doesn't come off as a particularly deep and moral character, but I think he uses this persona to cover a more sensitive and kind person beneath. Sort of like how Elphaba's green skin covers a completely different person beneath it. I hope you like it!

Dancing Through Life
Wicked Musical

FIYERO
The trouble with schools is
They always try to teach the wrong lessons
Believe me, I've been kicked out
Of enough of them to know
They want you to become less callow
Less shallow
But I say: why invite stress in?
Stop studying strife
And learn to live the unexamined life

Dancing through life
Skimming the surface
Gliding where turf is smooth
Life's more painless
For the brainless
Why think too hard
When it's so soothing
Dancing through life
No need to tough it
When you can slough it off as I do
Nothing matters
But knowing nothing matters
It's just life
So keep dancing through

Dancing through life
Swaying and sweeping
And always keeping cool
Life is fraught-less
When you're thoughtless
Those who don't try
Never look foolish
Dancing through life
Mindless and careless

WRONG: Make sure you wear less
Trouble and rife
RIGHT: Make sure you're where less trouble is rife.

Woes are fleeting
Blows are glancing
When you're dancing
Through life
(spoken) So - what's the most swankified place in town?

GALINDA
(spoken) That would be the Ozdust Ballroom.

FIYERO
(spoken) Sounds perfect.
Let's go down to the Ozdust Ballroom
We'll meet there later tonight
We can dance till it's light
Find the prettiest girl
Give 'er a whirl
Right on down to the Ozdust Ballroom
Come on - follow me
You'll be happy to be there

The Tudors

So on Friday, after I finished work and after I was done at the gym, I ran to Blockbuster on the way home to pick up my Friday Night Entertainment. Yup, no dancing my butt off at a club, no chilling in a low-key bar, no running drunk and naked down Peachtree Street; just me, Tina, a very depressed friend in need of some serious comfort company and three Blockbuster rentals. What WERE those rentals, you might ask yourself. Or not, in case you just don't care. But just in case you do, those rentals were:

The Happening
- Not as bad as everyone said it was. I actually enjoyed it. You'll never guess what's REALLY happening! It's some crazy sh*t.

Leatherheads - Eh. Kinda funny at parts, but kinda not at most parts. There are a couple scenes worth seeing, but overall I'm sure you could find something better to rent and enjoy.

And the rental to which this post is dedicated to: The Tudors, Season 1, Disc 1:

A couple people have been telling me to check this show out. I love Dexter and Californication, both Showtime shows and I LOVE anything to do with European history, especially English and especially anything to do with Henry VIII and/or Elizabeth. Who knew history could be so interesting and entertaining? Well, I did..so that's why I took the leap and rented the first disc to see how I liked it. It was a good move, if I do say so myself.

After finishing the first three episodes by Saturday morning, I really couldn't live without going back out and renting the last seven episodes. Forget that I had absolutely NO food in the fridge, forget that I had plans for later that night, forget that I seriously needed to clean my apartment cause it was starting to look like a dusty jungle scene. I NEEDED to watch this story play out, even though I knew the horrific ending already. Was Henry really going to risk his kingdom for this one girl? Yes, yes he was. Is the Cardinal really as bad as he seemed? Maybe not. Is Thomas More really as GOOD as he seemed? Maybe not. Could I maybe drool just a little bit more over Charles Brandon? Yes, yes I TOTALLY could. And was that the best sex scene ever?!! Yes, yes it was.

Jonathan Rhys Meyers plays a beautiful and intense Henry VIII. We realize early on that he loves just as fiercely as he hates and our feelings towards him rise and fall just as fluidly as his mood swings. He is not what you would call a kind person, but he is upset by death and in times like those that is always a sign of at least a decent person, if not a good person. You can't help but be attracted and awed by him, just as you are attracted and awed by Rhys Meyers' performance of him.

The show comes off a bit different than other shows. You watch this show and see 40,000 people in London alone die of disease, you see a man with reformist views get burned at the stake by a man who you trusted was good and pure (one of a very few in this character cast), you watch as a King who seemingly loves his people risks all of their livelihoods for one beautiful girl...but it's a different viewing experience because it all REALLY happened. There is a shot I remember well, a overhead shot of London..and it's burning. You can hear screams of pain and misery coming up from below and you feel your face scrunch up in sympathy and sadness. No documentary or History Channel event has ever caused me to feel like this show has. It's horrible and wonderful, deep and shallow, beautiful and scandalous...and totally addictive. I highly recommend it.

Here's your QotD:

King Henry: Tell me about King Francis, Sir Thomas.
Thomas Boleyn: He's 23 years old.
King Henry: Is he tall?
Thomas Boleyn: Yes. But ill proportioned.
King Henry: What about his legs? Are his calves strong like mine?
Thomas Boleyn: Your Majesty no one has calves like yours.
King Henry: Is he handsome?
Thomas Boleyn: Some people might think so. He certainly thinks so himself.
King Henry: He's vain?!
Thomas Boleyn: Your Majesty... he's French!

You're Gonna Go Far, Kid

You get a SotD (Song of the Day) today. My good friend Elliott made me one of his awesome CDs and this song was on it. I love it. Great to workout to and helps with some of the resentment and anger I have stored up, caused by a certain couple of people. Pissss.....*BOYS*. Surprise, surprise. Enjoy!

You're Gonna Go Far, Kid
By: Offspring

Show me how to lie
You’re getting better all the time
And turning all against the one
Is an art that’s hard to teach
Another clever word
Sets off an unsuspecting herd
And as you step back into line
A mob jumps to their feet

Now dance, fucker, dance
Man, he never had a chance
And no one even knew
It was really only you

And now you steal away
Take him out today
Nice work you did
You’re gonna go far, kid

With a thousand lies
And a good disguise
Hit ‘em right between the eyes
Hit ‘em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See ‘em running for their lives

Slowly out of line
And drifting closer in your sights
So play it out I’m wide awake
It’s a scene about me
There’s something in your way
And now someone is gonna pay
And if you can’t get what you want
Well it’s all because of me

Now dance, fucker, dance
Man, I never had a chance
And no one even knew
It was really only you

And now you’ll lead the way
Show the light of day
Nice work you did
You’re gonna go far, kid
Trust, deceived!

With a thousand lies
And a good disguise
Hit ‘em right between the eyes
Hit ‘em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See ‘em running for their lives

Now dance, fucker, dance
He never had a chance
And no one even knew
It was really only you

So dance, fucker, dance
I never had a chance
It was really only you

With a thousand lies
And a good disguise
Hit ‘em right between the eyes
Hit ‘em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See ‘em running for their lives

Clever alibis
Lord of the flies
Hit ‘em right between the eyes
Hit ‘em right between the eyes
When you walk away
Nothing more to say
See the lightning in your eyes
See ‘em running for their lives

Thoughts on Heroes

Whew! You know, I think no matter how far this show strays from a linear and clear storyline, I am still going to be entranced by it. It has its flaws and I am non-stop frustrated and confused while watching this amazing hour of television, but it's just that; amazing. I can't sit back on my couch, I have to lean forward, as if I am trying to strain closer and closer to solving the mystery of these characters and the events surrounding each and every one of them. I can't pick up the phone, I can't get up for ice cream, I can't look away from the screen. What the f**k is going on?! Who's behind all this craziness? What's happening to my favorite characters? Why am I just LOVING Sylar right now?

Ok so, the show runners have at least learned something from the problematic and over-the-top confusing and dare I say *crappy* second season. They have learned to give us some answers every once and awhile instead of keeping us perturbed and discouraged throughout a whole season. Last night they finally showed us who is behind all the villainous events for this season (well, maybe, who knows about other players we haven't been shown yet). I won't say who, since I don't want to spoil anyone, but you'll know who I mean when you watch the episode. So, with that puzzle out of the way it now seems to be more about what our other villains and heroes will do. Which side will they take? Who will they team up with? Who exactly are the bad guys and who are the good guys? This is the QUESTION! As the previews say, the line between good and evil is getting blurred. And badly. This is the starting line of my frustration and anxiety. That question. "Who are the good guys and who are the bad guys?"

We are usually drawn to the good guys, that's a given. Sometimes though, we are intrigued and excited by certain bad guys also. So what happens when a bad guy that you just can't help but love to hate (this brings back memories and comparisons of Spike, from Buffy) sudden seems to be leaning toward the good side? Ah, Sylar, you are creepy but oh so intensely intriguing. I love this guy, like LOVE. Forgetting even that Zachary Quinto is flawless in this role, Sylar is a beautifully written character. Even when he was all bad, with not even a shred of lightness in him, he still took over every scene whenever he was in the frame. Your eyes couldn't help be drawn to him, sitting there with his creepy watch and creepy hat and dark, empty eyes. He was just so EVIL. Now though, he is even more fascinating, even more absorbing as he tries his best not to be a monster. Sudden, HRG (Clarie's father) is looking less and less fatherly, less and less a good guy, while Sylar seems wise and courageous and...good.

Everyone is changing. The Heroes world has gone topsy-turvy. The bad are turning good. And the good are turning bad. This change in my Heroes television world can be at times a good thing, as with Sylar, but I am seeing alot of bad in this change also. It's not always a good idea for a show to establish the Heroes and the Villains, allowing you to connect and become attached to certain Heroes, and then sudden, without much rhyme or reason, turn all the Heroes that you love into Villains.

Let's take Peter, my worst and biggest example of the troubles that can arise from turning your characters inside out. Unlike Mohinder, Nathan and Hiro (I'll get to him later), Peter DOES actually have a reason for his strange and villainous behavior. Future Peter is dead, but it seems that all his workings were for nothing and Present Peter was not stopped from taking Future Sylar's abilities and therefore changed into a potential Villain. Ah, what a mess! This is painful for me, the viewer, to watch as one of my favorite and most loving Heroes is turned into a monster, a bad guy. I know many people saw Hiro as the heart and soul of the Heroes, but to me, Peter played that role. Hiro, though undeniably good, was naive and at times, unwise and hasty in his actions. Peter made mistakes, but he was always moving forward, always searching to help, always kind and loving, even to the people that didn't deserve it. And now...now he needs to kill, needs to take instead of give, full of anger and madness instead of love and caring. To me, his was the worst possible loss to the side of good.

And now also, it seems that Hiro may even be going down that road. Again, so as not to spoil anything, why did he do that?!!!! Ok, there is most likely a reason behind his *BIG* action. Maybe even a really good plan. But what if there isn't?? And also, if there isn't, then it may give cause to the little scene between himself and Ando that he saw when he flitted to the future a couple episodes ago. I mean, that kind of reaction on Ando's part certainly makes sense to me. What's happening to our Heroes? Why is Hiro suddenly on board with hanging with the Villains? Forget all the behind the scenes bullshit that we finally know more about, what's going to happen to Mohinder? Why is he going to hurt Nathan in the next episode? Why is he so BAD right now? I mean, just because you're becoming a icky reptile demon-like creature, doesn't mean you have to be all MEAN. Seriously. And Nathan, what's in his future? I mean besides lots of sex with Ali Larter, being president and possibly being murdered by his own brother. He now knows that God has nothing to do with his abilities, so that path is closed to him but what will he do now? Everyone seems to be wanting to get rid of their abilities, but that wish seems to be bringing only more trouble and pain. If you don't want to be a monster and use your ability for evil, then...just use it for GOOD! Tracy or Nikki or whoever you are...go freeze a freaking BAD GUY!! Stop whining that you killed an annoying reporter and go make amends for it! Seeking Mohinder and trying to get rid of your powers is only going to lead to badness, I'll tell you right now. Or, if you're just plain lazy, stay at home and have lots of sex with Nathan, cause that man is super fine. Have him fly you up into the clouds for fun, yet probably chilly, cloud sex. I wouldn't say no to that.

Anyway, I digress again. A couple other thoughts before I let you go: Happy to see Adam again. He's a great character, always causing strife and fun and interesting scenarios with the other characters. Plus, he's super cute. Angela Petrelli, seeming to be trying to help, but only making things worse for herself and for others. I don't think things are going to end well for her. *Shrug*. Claire, she is becoming even more annoying than Meredith on Grey's Anatomy. She is causing trouble and her seeking out Villains is just going to lead to more of it. Not to mention, it's clear she is seeing a change in her father, HRG. It's possible that his betrayal is what leads her to bad hair and Villains in the future. I don't even want to think about what will happen if she runs into Peter somehow. That will be the straw that causes her world of good and light to finally crumble. And Parkman and Speedster, can't WAIT for that meeting.

Ok, I have rambled too long and must return to work. Please, tell me your thoughts on Heroes.

Twilight Update

Hey there. Just wanted to do a small post on Twilight, considering the new and last trailer that was just released is just plain awesome. Like, rock my socks awesome. Also, some really cool screen captures have come to light that I'd like to show off. So, enjoy the below and let me know what you think!

Thanks to HGE for the screen caps.

State Fair

So I headed down to Perry, Georgia this weekend with my two BFFs, Tina and Katie, to spend some time just lying around being lazy and to catch some crazy-fun time at the State Fair. Once we arrived, late Thursday night, we caught up on all the True Blood episodes that were recorded on my parent's DVR and boy howdy with that show, I gotta say. Sex, blood, violence, crazy pointed-teeth vampires and sexy pointed-teeth vampires; it was a hoot and a half. Stephen Moyer was definitely sexier than I first thought and he had such great on-screen presence that I was always holding my breath while I waited for him to suddenly appear again on-screen. He had a very believable old southern accent that made up for everyone else's crappy accents on the show. Anyway, we really enjoyed it. It was cheesy, that's just not something you can miss, but it's a good, fun cheesy, which is something we can work with.

My two BFFs and I were soon joined by four other friends by Friday afternoon: Elliott, Charles, Corrie and Ryan. Once everyone was settled in on Friday night, we proceeded to go through bottles of Capt Morgan, red wine, Land Shark (for Charles) and various bottles of vodka. It was only when most of us where happily tipsy that I decided that I had waited long enough; it was Rock Band time! I would brook no argument and as I stood there with my guitar belt slug over my shoulder, jittering with enthusiastic excitement and waiting for the boys to set it up, I suddenly realized that I had been standing there waiting for an awful long time. I wrenched myself out my rock star daydream to find Charles and Elliott looking around like dumbos and as I looked into their guilt-ridden faces, I realized the awful truth; even with all the equipment (the microphones, the guitars, the drums), I would not be able to play the guitar that night since the actual game had not been packed. The next couple hours were spent calling every available video rental place and search high and low in the local Wal-Mart, all to no avail. It seemed that my night was ruined. But I put on a happy face and tried to enjoy the company of my friends...all the while dreaming about being a rock star.

The next day and night was spent lying around, recovering from the previous night's festivities and spending some time with my folks, who had only arrived home that afternoon. After having some tasty BBQ for lunch, we headed to the fair a little later that evening. We rode the ferris wheel, all the while praying the highly unstable metal parts wouldn't rust out from beneath us and cause us to plunge to our deaths below, we walked around the arts and crafts exhibits wish we could eat all the prize winning cakes, ate disgustingly fattening food (I'm not allowed to eat for the rest of the week) and then headed home smelling like animal poop, smoke and carnies. All in all, it was a good weekend. Check out some pics below and have a great Monday!

Summer Glau

Alright, so I realize that I have an over-abundance of ramblings concentrating on sweaty, hot, charming, drop-dead gorgeous males splattered across my blog. I get it. I know. So sue me. But, deciding that I'd like to keep any male visitors around for as long as possible, how about a post concentrating on a sweaty, hot, charming and perfectly rockin' female? Sound good? I mean, honestly, even the gals have to appreciate the awesomeness of Summer Glau. She is beyond cute and beyond kick ass and I'm not ashamed to admit that I TOTALLY want to be her. She moves like a ballerina, cause...she kinda is one. She even played one in an episode of Angel (Season 3, I think...?). Right now she is kicking butt as a terminator in The Sarah Conner Chronicles on FOX and boy was she born for that role. None of the other actors playing terminators can move as perfectly in that role like she can. She knows how to move and it shows in every role she plays but she also knows how to act, which is also a big plus. Fight scenes don't usually take alot of acting talent, but playing River on Firefly and Serenity, now that takes skills.

Yes, if you are thinking that I have a lesbian crush on Summer...you'd be very right. Check her out kicking some Reaver ass in Serenity below.

Lady L and The Hero of Canton

So, I am making my way through the only season of Freaks and Geeks on DVD and one of the episodes has a hilarious scene with Jason Segal and Seth Rogen where Jason Segal's character had written a song for Lindsey, the main character, and he is playing the song for Seth Rogen's character. Wow...is that a run-on sentence or what?! Anyway, it reminded me of another hilarious guitar scene from Firefly, so for your Votd (Video of the Day) and just in case you need a good laugh, here are those two scenes. Enjoy!!!

Castle

So, in case you haven't heard yet, my (yeah, I wish) gorgeous man, Nathan Fillion (he really has GREAT hair) will be starring in a new ABC show called Castle, coming in 2009. As usual, we will have to see how the pilot does in order to find out whether the network will keep it on the air for at least a whole season. A trailer has popped up online and it looks pretty good, but that might just be the delicious Nathan throwing off my awesome TV criticism. But seriously, does it really matter? I mean...look at him (God, I feel sorry for any males that allow themselves to read this man-hungry blog). Anyway, check out the trailer below and let me know your thoughts, especially you guys. I need someone to un-cloud my puppy-eyes so I can really tell whether this show is going to be good or not. Not like I'll care if it's bad. I'll still watch it. I AM a loyal fan, after all.

Thanks for Whedonesque for the info.

Monday Ramblings

Yes, I know I know. I haven't blogged in a couple days and I just know that every one of my one and a half readers (I am rounding up) have missed me so. I just haven't had a whole bunch of a lot to ramble about. I could talk about Justin Hartley from Smallville and how I now want to know everything there is to know about Green Arrow, cause he works that part like no other.

Um...can you say "Yum"?

Or I could ramble about this new series of books I have been devouring (mostly cause they are young adult and so easy to read and get sucked into), The House of Night series by P.C. and Kristin Cast.

"Please, just please with the same-sex kissing".

I could do a mini-motivation of the week (which yes, I noticed I stopped doing awhile ago) and talk about how excited I am to take over my parent's house down in Perry this weekend with my BFFs for the State Fair. Should be a cotton-lovin' blast.

Or, ohhh, I could discuss my recently discovered admiration for Freaks and Geeks. A producer friend gave me the one and only box set for the television show last week and since then I have fallen even more deeply in love with James Franco and have actually found a concrete crush for Jason Segal. This show rocks, ya'll. If you haven't seen, you should get on that. It's totally worth it.

I could also bring up the fact that I saw "Nick and Norah's Infinite Playlist" this weekend and that it's one of the best movies I have seen in awhile. I mean really. It was pretty much the most awesome, awkward, inspiring, hilarious and "awwwww" movie ever. Ok, maybe not ever, but at least recently. Michael Cera is just too cute and there was just enough gay in that movie to remind me why I adore my gay friends so much. It's totally worth the $10 for the ticket and that's saying a lot, what with the crap we have been recently handed at the theaters lately.

Yeah, I guess there is plenty to ramble about, now that I think about it. And hopefully Heroes tonight will offer up it's recently solidified love/hate line I adore to play around on so much. Edge of a knife people, edge of a knife. Anyway...rock on, blessed be, come back now ya hear? However you like it.
