Since my friend Elliott knows how much I like, as he calls them, "slit-my-wrist" songs (nice, huh?), he tacked on a few good ones on my new CD and I really, really liked this one. The song reminds me of something I once wanted...but things always change and now, even though I still sometimes feel the desire for it when I am at my weakest, it's not something I can have or even want anymore. So...this song has just the perfect amount of self-pity, depression and resignation to express those lovely thoughts. But of course, any song can mean a thousand different things to any one person who listens to it. It could mean happy thoughts for you, reader, for all I know. Not everyone is a "realist" like me.
